Happy Homemaker Monday

Welcome to my blog, Gee Dazee,
named after a little lady named Grandma Daisy.
Outside my window: The weather is beautiful, the sun is shining and making our lake look like diamonds this morning. The leaves have all blown off the trees opening up our views across the land.

Looking around my house: A normal Monday, cat toys scattered about, evidence that we have a kitten calling our house home; the Thanksgiving table is set, and the grocery list is on the counter.

I'm listening: to Joel Osteen's sermon. I record them so I can watch them anytime I want. It is a good way for me to start my day.

Todays Verse: John 15: 1 and 2: "I am the true vine, and my Father is the gardener. He cuts off every branch in me that bears no fruit, while every branch that does bear fruit he prunes so that it will be even more fruitful." This verse has special meaning for me this week.

My menu this week: Tonight we will have sausage and kraut, a meal we don't have often but sounds good today. It is easy, quick and full of flavor. I like to add applesauce to it after eating it at the German Festival in September. It adds a second flavor and makes it a bit mellow. Last week the store had nice Cauliflower heads, so there is left-over Cheese Cauliflower soup for my lunch.  The rest of the week is up for grabs. Turkey and ham is on the menu Thursday.

My favorite blog post this past week: Aunt Ruthies Sugar Pie Farm House I love her blog and especially her youtube videos. Her recipe for Butter Crunch Pumpkin Bars sounds delicious.

On my to-do-list: Keep up my bike riding, I am averaging 4 miles a day. Thanks to my spine doctors for getting me back on my feet, now I am doing my part by doing a daily tai chi session and riding my bike. I will need to stay with my daily journaling, it is helping me track triggers that may cause a fibromyalgia flare, keep me focused on a healthier diet, and I enjoy the creativity that bullet journaling offers me.  I am also participating in a link up with Katie over at Katherines Corner "Give Thanks Tablescape blog tour". I have been working on my Thanksgiving Table and I will share it on the 22nd. Hope you will come by and take a look.

On my mind: reminiscing. My Uncle was moved to hospice care yesterday. I pray for him and his children, grandchildren, may they find peace and strength. Thanksgiving is a time for me to list everything I have been grateful for the past year. I keep a daily gratitude journal and there seems to never be enough space to list everything. I am most grateful for my life that has lasted longer than I thought it would. Everyday is a blessing. Everyday that is pain free is a bonus!

From my camera: a photo from the winter of 2015, 14 inches of snow. We loved it, and I hope we get another one this year! It was beautiful!

  2. What a nice post...You are one organized gal, and I enjoyed reading your "lists"... I am a list maker to a fault. But it works for me.

  3. Happy Thanksgiving to you and yours!
I need to restart Tai-Chi too, I just loved doing it but no classes near my home and I have a hard time following on youtube. Need to find a good dvd, it might help.

  4. I am running so, so late this week visiting everyone! I hope you had a fantastic Thanksgiving with family and friends. I love the contrast of those pictures - even if they are years apart. LOVE snow. Have a great weekend.
