Empty Nest Syndrome...

"Animals are reliable, many full of love, true in their affections, predictable in their actions, grateful and loyal. Difficult standards for people to live up to."     Alfred A, Montapert

Yep, I got it bad.
I thought it was bad when the kids moved out.

We have had the grandpuppy for the past 3 weeks while Kdaughter went to Texas.  This little furry baby went home yesterday. I miss her kisses when I walk in the door, her snuggles under the covers late at night, and her dancing for treats.  Although, I don't miss standing in the yard, at dawn, in the cold, wearing my robe, waiting for her to do her business.

Here she is, after a warm bath,
mad at me for putting a bow in her hair.

"Tater Pie", our cat, could care less. She enjoys the special diet of boiled chicken when grandpuppy is here and the treats but other than that Tater Pie is totally unaffected by guests or the world, or me, or anything for that matter. Tater Pie is very independent and completely maintenance free. She lets us live with her.

Here is Lillie when she was a puppy, riding in her car seat, on her way home from doggy daycare.  Isn't she cute!

Have an awesome Monday!

As life goes...
I just had to show you this!  I bought this plant last summer and I am not sure what the name of it is.  I have it in the east window in my dining room where it gets full sun for about half of the day. It is blooming with these beautiful yellow flowers! #feelinggreatfulltoday

  1. awwww, I love my "empty nest" because the hubs is still in it!!!!

  2. i like the plant and have not seen one before. the sweet little dog is adorable and cats are wonderful about taking care of themselves... dogs have to have baby sitters, cats don't

  3. Okay!!! Doggie Daycare??? Oh, my GOODNESS!!! That just sounds funny to me! Our Ruth Ann keeps Sherry's dog every day while Sherry works and then 'Blue' goes down to the ranch with Sherry every weekend. Ruth Ann's dog (Molly) is Blue's mother. Enter Lucy.
She stays with Ruth Ann from time to time as well as going down to the ranch when we go on vacation. It does seem empty when the critters are gone. I still want a cat and continue to miss Maggie. I have been so busy I haven't had time to look for one. I only do rescue critters so I look at the animal shelter online from time to time.
I do not know what your plant is - but how amazing!! I have a huge Christmas Cactus but it was outside during a recent freeze. I must have been in Fort Worth when that happened because it is in bad shape. I hope it comes back.......
Didn't mean to write a BOOK!!!! Guess you can tell I have missed talking with you!!
    I'm BAAAAAAACK!!!!

  4. Those are sure some cute, pampered critters. I'm posting now from my recliner which I'm sharing with Boudxy, our Schnauzer.

  5. Love all the adorable pet pictures.
I used to have that plant. Don't know it's official name but it was called Purple Passion.

  6. What adorable pets you've shared with us today! Happy Thanksgiving to you and yours!

  7. Awwww....they are all so cute.

Thank you for taking a peek and stopping by to visit!
