I am a miracle...

"Many people are praying for a miracle. They're saying, "God, please send me a friend. God, I need help with these children. God, I need a break." We have to realize that we can become that miracle they need. God uses people. He has no hands to heal except through our hands. He has no voice to encourage except our voice. He has no arms to hug except through our arms. God will bring people across our path so that we can be the answer to their prayer."

I read the last chapter in the book The Power of I am by Joel Osteen last night as I lay in bed slowing my thoughts and preparing to go to sleep. The above paragraph on page 257 kept calling me to read it over and over.  I finally laid this book down on my night stand and drifted off to sleep thinking about miracles.

I awoke this morning thinking about it and trying to remember the times I have been on the receiving end of such miracles. I have often referred to some of those miracle wielding people in my life as my earthly angels. My friend Barbara has come knocking at my door with fresh flowers after I have prayed for hope. My husband has made a special trip to get me a cappuccino after I have prayed for love. My friend Tonie has made me laugh when I thought I had no laughter left in me and I prayed for happiness. Nancy, on so many occasions has brought me food when I have prayed for nourishment and kindness.

How can I be
someone's miracle today?

I will send a text to my friend Nancy who is driving 60 miles to be with her daughter who is fighting a hard battle with cancer. I will tell her I am praying for her and that I lit a candle in Stephanie's name this morning. I will take my mom a slice of that delicious cake that I baked for my neighbors yesterday and tell her thank you for raising me. I will deliver some brownies to my cousin up the street after she gets off work today and tell her how much I enjoy her company. I will call my aunt and check on her today. I  will hug my husband this morning, this afternoon and this evening while telling him how much I appreciate all that he does for me. I will invite a friend who is struggling in her relationship over for dinner and quiet, intimate conversation.

How can you be
someone's miracle today?
